There is one place on this planet where, for a few thousand years, history, geography, and spirituality have collided.
The place continues to stand as a magnetic focal point in events seen and unseen-whether military, political, or spiritual, all eyes are continually on a tiny slab of land no bigger then the state of New Jersey.
That place is Israel.

Nations, governments, and million of people all over this planet maintain interest in Israel for various reasons, including, of course, people who are believers in Yeshua (Jesus).
Now believers have a unique opportunity to catch on to a "new direction." This "new direction" ironically is, by its very history and existence, one of the most natural and longest running concepts in the world.
The concept that Kivun addresses-the whole purpose of Kivun-is to provide the Hebrew speaking messianic community the tools it needs to articulate its ideals both to its own body, the larger Jewish community, and the world around it in an integrated, authentic, and powerful way.
Kivun emphasizes and reinforces the Jewish aspect of the New Testament and its expressions within the community. To this end, Kivun plans to initiate the unique projects you will read about following...
The proposed newspaper is intended both as a service to the Hebrew-speaking Messianic community and to the larger community in Israel. The paper is designed to enhance intercongregational communication by providing a forum for interviews, editorials, news items, and articles relevant to the entire Messianic community. The newspaper format has been specifically chosen as a cost-effective vehicle for conveying news and views produced in accordance with professional standards. The paper will be issued bimonthly during the first year, looking towards a monthly edition in the second year by a moderate subsription fee. In addition to catering to the eeds andinterests of the local Messianic community, the paper is also designed to draw the attention and atractin of the general public towards Israel's Messiah.
Intended for use in conjunction with the Greek - Hebrew dictionary, this manual is designed for the Hebrew - speaking student of NT Greek. the work is based on J.W. Wenham's widely - used The Elements of New Testament Greek, altered and modified to suit the needs of the Hebrew - speaking public. The text book further hopes to improve on Wenham by deleting the odious and pejorative attitudes towards Judaism given expression in some of Wenham's translation exercises. Once again, this textbook will fill a gap in the market as yet unfulfilled by any other material.
- Estimated number of pages: 300
The first ever comprehensive dictionary to the Greek New Testament in Hebrew! This dictionary will include all the words found in the NT and their equivalent Hebrew translation. In additoin, the dictionary will also act as a resource for comparing the three major Hebrew translations of the New Testament (F. Delitzsch, Y. Atzmon, and I. Zalkinson). Its final feature will be suggested alternatives for certain words to lay the foundation for a potential new and improfed Hebrew translation. The dictionary is designed for the lay person as well as for the scholar and will enable the reader to access the original text of the NT either through the Greek or from the Hebrew.
- Estimated number of pages: 800
Kivun hopes to fully integrate into a perfect balance, where "theory meets reality." Kivun is not just about academia, though quality, Messianically - oriented study sources are needed in Israel. Neither is Kivun strictly focusing on the experiential end of faith. Rather, where there is a void, a balance is needed. One major work that Kivun looks forward to is encouraging the emergence of a Messianic community which will give its members a biblically - structured framework to live and worship in accordance with their Jewish heritage. They will have the opportunity to be build up in the faith through solid biblical teaching and the encouragement and support to stand up for their faith throughsensitive and well - informed evangelistic methods. The community will seek to find ways to integrate its faith in Yeshua with a Jewish lifestyle and participation in Israeli society in a well - balanced and healthy manner.
Recently, on two very popular shows on national Israeli television, an unusual phenomenon occurred. People had a chance to witness age - old debates (in this case, about the question of one's Jewishness and one's trust in Yeshua as the Messiah). Our phenomenon was unusual in that the protagonist for the Messiah on the show was able to give articulate, fluid, responses from an authenticIsraeli / Jewish perspective. the observers, both participants on the show, and those at home were given real issues about the one man in history called "Yeshua ha Notzri" to grapple with. With this guest, they were not forced to pick through sub - cultural filters sometimes exported by well - meaning non - Israeli believrs. The direction of Kivun, because it is anchored to expressions of the Jewish aspect of the New Testament, points to many possibilities, as illustrated above. Future possibilities include:
- Translation of the Bible to Modern Hebrew
- A book on "Faith in Yeshua in Modern Israel"
- Continued public forums, lectures, and events.
